Digitalization of the Body. how new technologies of self-tracking change Czech students' perception of health and well-being

Topic of work is an impact of digital self-tracking technologies such as wearable fitness trackers and smartphone self-tracking applications on individual. With using the methodology of semi- structured interviews, conducted with students who are engaged in self-tracking and comparative discourse analysis, when data received from interviews were compared with healthy lifestyle discourse, manifested in Czech internet media portals, research question of "How self-trackers perceive the impact of the technology of self-tracking on their physical activities and lifestyle, respectively differentiated among themselves in terms of impact and usage of self-tracking technology, and to what extent they perceive it similarly to the way self- tracking is presented in Czech internet media portals?" was answered in a following way: respondents were categorized as 'engaged' and 'sportsmen' users, and their relation to discourse was not complete, although they were using a proposed by media conceptualization of healthy lifestyle. In addition, paper proposes a theoretical overview over a problem of self- tracking and discusses the possibilities for future research.

Self-tracking as a form of communication: case study of communication of sportsmen in the Czech Republic

This diploma thesis explores a new phenomenon in Communication studies called self- tracking. The activity of self-tracking involves digital technology that enables systematic recording of aspects of individual's life such as sport activity or health. Despite the high number of Czechs who self-track themselves, this activity is not very well-known yet in the Czech Republic. Therefore one of the aims of this diploma thesis is to provide an insight into the communication process between athletes and their self-tracking devices. Research part of the theses should answer the questions about the exchange of information between athletes and technologies. In addition to find out why athletes record sport data, meanings of data and what benefits data bring them. Other part of the research explores attitudes of Czech athletes towards sharing data from sport on social media. The first part of the thesis is dedicated to introduction of the phenomenon, summary of English literature on this topic and determination of critical questions in the current research of self-tracking. Second part is dedicated to description of qualitative research method, analysis and interpretation of data. Potential use of self-tracking in managerial practice

The theme of this work is the Potential use of Self-Tracking in managerial practice. The aim of this thesis is in the theoretical part aproximace to the reader the concept of Self Tracking how this method works, which makes use of tools and applications. Outlines its use in the management of the company. In the practical part I choose four Self Tracking application, which I will describe and suggest the possibility of their use in the enterprise.
